I've clench the final hand that'll expand my horizon to forever,
until the chagrin squalls quit squawking,
I won't come down from the cold deep ink well,
squalid temperament in their gawking,
I've covered up in a cape full of stars to hide from time,
tawdry drapes and summer slouching,
A mask of the moon swoons over me for protection,
vitriolic barrage of iron and coal blotching,
My heat is that eternal flame that'll re-ignite the ages,
supernova bursting into billions of blistering hues,
Mellifluous steps wept for the parts unknown,
I've got murder at the bottom of my shoe,
and the weight of time marks my back,
I can't sleep in a moribund bed,
instead I stay awake smiling.

For those who forget
(for Gerald)
no matter what the decision, she would have never stayed,
her words whisper lightly, but they're a comforting touch,
don't be foolish and believe she doesn't think about you much.

A Prank
It's all a ruse, this magic hat called life,
millions of illusions, too much strife,
that rabbit hole digs deep in our souls,
curtains collapse before the meanings exposed,
we can try to peek backstage for a glimpse,
but that cloak is quick to disguise their essence,
like an 6mm black and white our past plays for all,
roughly cut, skipping straight to the fall,
A magician would be nothing without that deep mystery,
being able to conjure glorious hues and false history.

A Whole in the Sky
I'm flying with blue wings for that aqua pool,
that enchanting paint eases muscles,
kisses the minds eye,
refreshes the heart,
I'm escaping to that sanctuary hidden in gold,
that glorious warmth coats the skin,
reignites the bones,
brightens the soul,
I'm leaving to find that center where I can fill that whole,
owed to me by the gods,
their hands lift my feet,
a divine rest cycling through my veins,
forgotten all the pains.

A Night Scene
Huffs dancing off lips,
Slips of stars far in the fog,
Bogged down by a megaton thought,
Brought old pages for a minor drought,
Bout with loose wheels and rusted gears,
Odd jeers from strangers stepping by,
Flying back to the nest to rest,
Imagining this road surrounded by scrapers,
Humming shadows treading ghostly,
Halted inertia,
Jocularly walking back to where I was,
Cause’ it’s that familiar smell that this scene
wafts back to me.
Slips of stars far in the fog,
Bogged down by a megaton thought,
Brought old pages for a minor drought,
Bout with loose wheels and rusted gears,
Odd jeers from strangers stepping by,
Flying back to the nest to rest,
Imagining this road surrounded by scrapers,
Humming shadows treading ghostly,
Halted inertia,
Jocularly walking back to where I was,
Cause’ it’s that familiar smell that this scene
wafts back to me.

A Good Bye
Lay down arms and gaze at that pearl moon,
it's a mirror to view what's deep in your soul,
let the anger seep to the ground,
let the reasons hop into the shadows,
let the noise be shallowed by the night,
what do you see?

A Part
Falling motions like rain drops hitting a fire,
sizzling out of existence,
that sibilant hiss as the smoke furls like horns towards the tips of the sky.
Hurried outside to wash away that old skin,
leaning into shadows,
snickering at haunting reflections from damp windows.
Eyebrows bend while reading the cracks of the floor,
cars blare as they ignorantly speed by,
ambulances cry and moan off within the corners you forgot.
Eventually you won’t worry about being scared,
those photos will vanish and wither,
that anger will subside,
you’ll be alone.
